Edmonton Launch Event!

Edmonton you showed up even though we had a thunderstorm! Despite a few of you going to the actual Poppy Barley store in Southgate, this event went off without a hitch. We had such a great time bringing The Pink Tax to Janine’s hometown. The beautiful PB space was perfect for our event, allowing the guests to mingle and snack on the delicious Italian Centre charcuterie boards.

Thank you so much to our sponsors Poppy Barley and CPA Alberta for their generous contributions to our event. We collected lots of menstrual products at the door and our guests were greeted with a lovely glass of bubbly.

So many familiar faces all the way back from high-school, U of A alumni, fellow CPAs and family. This was a great chance to give everyone a first reading of the book – a story entitled “the lemonade stand”. We had a lot of important conversations around biases, high-school education (or lack there of) in regards to personal finance, and how women are actually better investors.

What a successful evening! And after everything was cleaned up and packed away in the car, we enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and burrata at Darling Bar dishing about salacious family drama & entrepreneurship. Next up—Vancouver!
